Content Management System (CMS)

Our proprietary content management system (CMS) enables both you and Synacor to create dynamic, customizable web pages and components with content from various sources. Our system is comprised of an administrative interface, a scalable content storage system and a system to distribute content to the platform. It also includes a feed management system for importing content.

Using our system, you, or Synacor editors, can publish directly to a website without HTML designers, and display a page preview or component designs prior to publishing. Our CMS can also automatically publish content from outside sources or assign publishing rights, by site section, to outside vendors.

The CMS allows its users to:
pre-write and schedule editorial content months in advance;
quickly add news or content feeds from partner sources; and
assemble page components from standardized templates that match the portal’s look, with the option to create new templates using standard HTML.

Component Builders: An interactive tool allows you to assemble content and feeds into templates without HTML knowledge; uses a point-and-click interface, with automatic updates.

Page Composer: Lets you assemble groups of components into professional-looking pages by adding, removing and reordering components, and then see live site results in minutes.

Content Scheduling: Pre-write and schedule content weeks—or months—in advance. The CMS automatically rotates it; sites stay fresh even during weekends and holidays.

Workflow and Content Approval: All layout and content changes go through an approval process—including a preview and authorization phase—before they are published.

Quick-Add Feed Content: Most XML news, content and RSS feeds can be incorporated directly into the CMS with little technical knowledge.

Granular User Management: The CMS allows detailed control over users and tools. You can be given authority to design, write, or approve content on a page, section or site level.
