Ronald Frankel
President and CEO
Ron Frankel has served as a member of Synacor’s board of directors and as President and Chief Executive Officer since April 2001. Prior to joining Synacor, Frankel served as CEO at Perks.com, Inc. He held the position of President of MGM Interactive, the interactive division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc., as well as SVP, Marketing and Sales at Kenfil Distribution. From 1988 to 1991, Frankel served in several executive positions at Softview, Inc., lastly as SVP of Marketing and Sales. Frankel attended the University of California at Berkeley and received a J.D. from the University of Southern California Law Center.
Terri Santisi
Terri Santisi has been a member of the board of Directors since April 2007. In December 2007, Terri founded T. Media Services International, a strategic business advisory and consultancy firm. T. Media Services provides Media Companies with assistance with mergers and acquisitions, change management and strategic business development. Prior to that, Terri Santisi was at IMG, a sports, media and entertainment company, as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. Previously, Ms. Santisi was Chief Financial Officer of Interpublic Media, the division of the Interpublic Group responsible for overseeing the company’s media planning and buying operations. Prior to Interpublic, she was a partner and Industry Leader of KPMG’s Global Media and Entertainment Practice, where she developed and implemented strategies for growth and transformation in the media and entertainment industry. Prior to KPMG, Terri held senior executive positions with EMI Group PLC, one of the world’s largest music companies. She began her career at Ernst & Young. Terri has been an active participant in the World Economic Forum where she serves as the senior advisor to the Media and Entertainment Governors. Terri has authored white papers on the future of the media industry, including The Changing Advertising Landscape, The Intellectual Property Dilemma and The Value Creation Challenge. Recognized as one of the "Fifty Most Powerful Women in the Entertainment Industry" by The Hollywood Reporter, Ms. Santisi was also a recipient of the "Leadership in Action Award" by the Women's Action Alliance. She is a member of the steering committee of She Made It, an initiative of the Paley Media Center to recognize outstanding women in media. She also serves on the board of directors of New York Outward Bound and a member of the executive committee.
Thomas W. Keaveney
Thomas Keaveney serves as a Board Member and Senior Advisor for Advantage Capital. He has extensive experience in all phases of private finance, including deal origination, structuring, pricing and documentation. His primary responsibility is in fundraising.
Mr. Keaveney previously served the firm as an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was Chairman of the Private Finance Department, and a member of both the Investment and Investment Banking committees. Prior to CSFB, Mr. Keaveney worked in the private finance department of Salomon Brothers and at the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association. He is a director of two international public companies.
Mr. Keaveney earned bachelor's and master's degrees in economics at Fordham University.
Jeff Mallett
Jeffrey Mallett has been a member of our board of directors since September 2007. Since 2005, Mr. Mallett has served as a director and Chairman of the Board of SNOCAP Inc., a provider of digital music licensing and copyright management services. Since 2002, Mr. Mallett has been a principal Owner and Executive Committee Member of Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants baseball club. From 1995 to 2002, Mr. Mallett held various positions, including President and Chief Operating Officer, at Yahoo! Inc. From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Mallett served as Vice President and General Manager of the WordPerfect consumer division at Novell, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Mallett was a member of the founding team of Reference Software International where he held various positions from 1988 to 1992, including Vice President, Sales and Marketing. From 1985 to 1987, Mr. Mallett held the position of Director, Sales and Marketing at Island Pacific Telephone Corp., a privately held telecommunications company.
Mark Morrissette
Mark Morrissette has been a member of Synacor’s board of directors since October 2006. Morrissette is a Managing Director at North Atlantic Capital. He served as a senior associate at Advent International Corp, and as an analyst at CSC Index. Morrissette holds an M.B.A., Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Economics, Dartmouth College.
Andrew Kau
Andrew Kau has been a member of Synacor’s board of directors since December 2000. Prior to joining Synacor’s board, Kau served as a director of MyPersonal. Kau is a managing director at Walden International. He was President of Chemical Technologies Ventures, and a management consultant at Strategic Planning Associates, LLC, and at Booz, Allen and Hamilton, Inc. He also served as a research scientist at Systems Planning Corp. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
Jordan Levy
Jordan Levy has been a member of Synacor’s board of directors since October 2001. Levy is a partner at Softbank Capital, and co-founded Seed Capital Partners LLC, where he served as a managing partner. He is the appointed Chairman of the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. Levy currently serves on the board of directors of Lorex Technology Inc., a publicly held company. He holds a B.A. in Political Science, University at Buffalo.
Joseph Tzeng
Joseph Tzeng has been a member of Synacor’s board of directors since December 2000. Prior to joining Synacor’s board, Tzeng served as a director of MyPersonal. He is a managing director of Crystal Internet Ventures, and has served as President of CIVF Management, Ltd. Tzeng holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering and Information Sciences, Case Western Reserve University an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Electronics Engineering, National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan.
