1. Buffalo boasts some of the lowest airfares in the nation, and is one of the five cheapest airports from which to fly in the country, according to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics.
2. Housing prices are very reasonable. A well-kept, three-bedroom house can be had for around $100,000. In a 2006 study completed by the National Association of Home Builders, the Buffalo Niagara region ranked fourth most affordable major housing market in the country.
