Synacor Names Vice President of Engineering

(BUFFALO, NY) December 10, 2007– Synacor has named Chung Kim as vice president of engineering. The veteran technology executive is responsible for leading the company’s product development activities, providing technical guidance as well as overseeing project management for all product development.

“Chung is an important addition to our team,” explained Ross Winston, Synacor chief technology officer. “He’ll work closely with all functional leaders across the company and assist the executive team in setting and refining Synacor’s strategy and direction.”

Prior to joining Synacor, Kim was director of product development at Media Data Corp. where he was responsible for product development in two divisions. Prior to Media Data, he was vice president/general manager Software and UI, in the Digital Media Business Unit of Samsung Electronics, Inc. He also served at Xerox for 18 years.

He holds a master’s degree in business administration from California State University, Northridge, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and operations research from the University of California, Berkeley.
