March 24th 2009
Synacor has been nominated for the Cyberculture BETA Award. The cyberculture award recognizes organizations that exude a positive, encouraging, productive, and tech-savvy work environment.
The Buffalo/Niagara Emerging Technology Awards seek to discover, honor, and promote the efforts of local & regional companies, organizations, and individuals who are the innovators, creators, and advocates of new technologies, new methods of integrating technology & of economic development through technology in WNY.
Synacor offers both a dynamic and unique environment to its employees. It has been the Synacor motto to “work hard, play hard” and Synacor helps employees do just that by giving employees the freedom to do the work they were hired to do, and time to enjoy their accomplishments when hard work perseveres.
Synacor offers a casual atmosphere with fun-loving employees, from the most recent new hire up to the CEO. Jeans and T-shirts are the typical work attire – after all, how can a person really be creative in constrictive ties and suits? Both employees and stuffed animals (remnants of Synacor picnics) populate conference rooms and hallways. Taking advantage of Synacor’s location on the waterfront, employees can maintain productivity by using its wireless internet access while sitting outside on warm-weather days.
Synacor believes that through this freedom, employees are liberated and excited to create and expand on innovative technologies. Want proof that Synacorians always get the job done? Synacor offers office lunch parties every time a major product is launched – typically once a month.
