Jeffrey Mallett Named to Synacor Board of Directors

(BUFFALO, NY) October 3, 2007 – Jeffrey Mallett, the former president and chief operating officer of Yahoo! Inc., was elected to the board of directors of Synacor, announced company president and CEO Ron Frankel today.
“Jeff’s experience and expertise will be of great value to Synacor management,” explained Frankel. “I am thrilled to have him join our board of directors.”
“Synacor is in the middle of a number of media and convergence industry developments,” said Mallett, who also served as a longtime Yahoo! board member. “I look forward to working with the company to continue to expand their market position.”
Mallett currently serves as a director and chairman of the board of SNOCAP Inc., a provider of digital music licensing and copyright management services. Since 2002, Mallett has been a principal owner and executive committee member of Major League Baseball’s San Francisco Giants baseball club. From the mid-1990s to 2002, he held various positions at Yahoo! Inc., including president and chief operating officer. Prior to Yahoo!, he served as vice president and general manager of the WordPerfect consumer division at Novell, Inc., and was a founding team member of Reference Software International, where he also served as vice president of sales and marketing among other positions. From 1985 to 1987, Mallett was the director of sales and marketing at Island Pacific Telephone Corp., a privately held telecommunications company.
